We Took the Plunge

I've already been teased. I've already heard the, "Aww, nooo. You didn't really, did you?"

That's right, we did it. We got a minivan.

And, I LOVE IT!

Ha! There, I said it. I know, I know. It's supposed to be a purchase that parents dread. We're not supposed to be excited. We're supposed to feel like our youth has been stolen and our days of fun will tuck under the floorboards, along with the hiding seats.

But, I don't feel that way at all. I feel grown up, but in a good way. The purchase marks our hopes and plans to continue to grow our family. We're hoping to keep the van - a Chrysler Town & Country - for 10 years, and hopefully within that time we'll need something bigger than what we had to fit the multiple baby and booster seats that are required.

We're not looking to compete with the Duggars, but a couple more little ones for Miss Olive to boss around would be great.

And, as the Hubby and I have learned in our first year of parenthood - kids take up so, so, so much space. Especially on trips, especially when they're wee little things. I think we'll be happy to have the extra room.

On top of the feelings of responsibility and achieved (at least pretend) adulthood, our van if just flipping sweet.

There are two TVs, each of which can play a different DVD. It starts with a plastic "thing" rather than an actual key, which might be normal now but is super cool to me. It has many, many compartments to put all my personal and baby care stuff that I sometimes felt had me surrounded. It has buttons that do everything except drive the van for me.

Did I mention I love my new minivan? Photos of the new ride to come.

Anyone else in love with their "family" vehicle? Please share ...
